Sofia Vergara Pulls Out Of 'The Paperboy'

Sofia VergaraThe Paperboy just lost its headliner. Sofia Vergara, Gloria from Modern Family, was signed on for a major role in Lee Daniels’ upcoming film about a reporter heading south to investigate the possible wrongful incarceration of a death row inmate… sounds familiar

However, the actress is no longer attached to the film, as it has produced conflict filming the third season of Modern Family. However, the series has not kept her from accepting film roles entirely. In addition to appearing in July's The Smurfs, she’ll have a role in the Farrelly Brothers’ adaptation…remake?…homage?…movie, The Three Stooges, which, their record will prove, should either be fantastic or terrible.

Those remaining in the cast of The Paperboy include Matthew McConaughey and Tobey Maguire. So…something tells me Vergara won’t be missing out on anything inspiring. Season three of Modern Family will debut this fall, with the whole cast in tow. And now they have a dog.

Daniels’ two previous directing credits include Precious (oh, promising!) and Shadowboxer (oh…never mind). He is also currently developing a project about Martin Luther King and the civil rights marches.
