Less than a week after NBC announced the cancellation of its cop drama Southland, TNT reportedly might have interest in acquiring the cop drama.
Four days ago, the critically acclaimed series, starring The O.C.’s Benjamin McKenzie, was dropped by NBC before its already-shot season 2 premiere had aired.
The move was essentially chalked up to a Jay Leno Show casualty, since NBC no longer has a 10 p.m. timeslot available on weeknights for Southland -- or any other show.
Enter TNT, which issued the following statement: “We continually look at all programming opportunities that fit our portfolio of brands.”
And wouldn’t Southland be a perfect fit alongside shows like The Closer, Leverage and Raising the Bar?
