I’m already bored with this news and this is the first sentence. Kevin Spacey and David Fincher are working together again on a remake of the British mini-series House of Cards. Spacey, executive producer of The Social Network and co-star of Fincher's breakthrough hit Se7en, will star in and executive produce with the prestigious filmmaker and Dana Brunetti. The original, released in 1990, followed a politco as he tried to rise through the ranks of the British Parliament. No word yet on when the pilot would be ready or even what network they're hoping to get the show aired on.
Why they feel the need to dramatize the British Parliament is beyond me. Hell, why they feel the need to remake a dramatization is even further beyond me. Seriously, if there was ever a government that needed a reality TV show (besides the crazy dictators, but they usually involve class warfare and other not-fun stuff) it is the British Parliament. Half the time they’re drunk and they can’t even design a room big enough to house them all so most of them are standing. And British people hate standing. Throw in some partisan politics, wigs and the ability to vote people off and you have a complete reality show. I’m gonna copyright the hell out of this.
