HOLLYWOOD - Emergency services have escorted Britney Spears from her Los Angeles mansion after a major incident saw the property surrounded by local authorities.
The star was taken away in a convoy of ambulances and police cars, although it is not clear which vehicle the pop singer was travelling in or where they were heading.
Police, paramedics and U.S. rangers were seen entering the star's luxury compound and opening the property's fire gates late on Wednesday night.
The "Toxic" hitmaker's Beverly Hills home is currently under the spotlight of a helicopter, and paparazzi from all over the city have flocked to the gates of her estate.
Spears' mother, Lynne, who is in L.A. visiting her elder daughter, was seen entering the property earlier on Wednesday night, and according to X17online the stars' longtime companion/manager Sam Lutfi was also present.
Earlier, X17online had reported the troubled star may have attempted to commit suicide, but now new reports from TMZ.com indicate that Spears may be hospitalized under a metal health order.
The 26-year-old was previously admitted to L.A.'s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center earlier this month after a four-hour standoff with police, and was held for two days on a "5150 hold" order, meaning medics had reason to believe she is a danger to herself or others.
