Spielberg, Zemeckis to part ways

Robert Zemeckis
HOLLYWOOD - Long-time filmmaker friends Steven Spielberg and Robert Zemeckis are taking their joint businesses in separate directions, Variety reports.

Zemeckis' Imagemovers movie-production company--located within Spielberg's DreamWorks compound in Hollywood--is looking for a new home. One possible location for Imagemovers is the Warner Bros. lot.

According to Variety Imagemovers' overhead costs may have been too pricey for what the studio has produced over the past five years--just two films: What Lies Beneath and Cast Away.

No statements have been issued on whether or not Spielberg and Zemeckis have had a personal falling out. The directorial duo have been friends since 1974.
