Spoiler Alert: Matthew Weiner Reveals How 'Mad Men' Will End

Mad Men Don Draper CigaretteAs we wait for what feels like an eternity for the next season of Mad Men, Matthew Weiner delivers quite the pre-dinner snack: a hint at how the series will end. Wiener already stated that the series is meant to end after seven seasons, and we're awaiting the debut of Season Five as we speak. Now, we'll have a destination to look foward to. Warning, do not read on if you don't want a bit of a spoiler -- though I will say I don't think it will completely ruin the series for you.

In a recent interview, Wiener said he knows how Mad Men will end its days:

I do know how the whole show ends. It came to me in the middle of last season. I always felt like it would be the experience of human life. And human life has a destination. It doesn't mean Don's gonna die. What I'm looking for, and how I hope to end the show, is like...It's 2011. Don Draper would be 84 right now. I want to leave the show in a place where you have an idea of what it meant and how it's related to you. It's a very tall order...

So at the end of the series, we'll see 84 year-old Don Draper (Jon Hamm) in some capacity, proving the slick ad man can outlive anything -- even Lucky Strike-induced lung cancer, the macarena epidemic and (possibly) Bieber fever. Let's just hope he won't end his famed television run while sitting in a diner listening to "Don't Stop Believing."
