Springfield flushed with cash

HOLLYWOOD - Watch out Montgomery Burns, you're no longer the only tycoon in Springfield with money to burn. The voices behind The Simpsons will enjoy a 43 percent salary increase for the 13th and 14th seasons of the hit Fox animated sitcom, Variety reports. Each cast member will pocket $100,000 per episode, up from $70,000. That would jump to $125,000 per episode should The Simpsons continue for a 15th season. Dan Castellaneta, Hank Azaria, Harry Shearer, Yeardley Smith, Julie Kavner and Nancy Cartwright also will each receive a $1 million bonus, which was written into their previous contract. Castellaneta comes out an even bigger winner, with Fox giving him a production/development deal based on the occasional scripts that he writes for the show.
