Springfields Compete for 'Simpsons' Premiere

HOLLYWOOD - Sixteen Springfields across America are competing to host the world premiere of The Simpsons Movie.

Officials in the towns and cities have been invited to shoot a short film about their links to the cult cartoon show, which is set in a fictional Springfield.

The Simpsons creator Matt Groening will judge the contest and the premiere will be held in the town or city with the best film.

The Simpsons Movie will open in July.
