Stockard Channing Pleads No Contest to Drunk-Driving Charges

Stockard Channing
HOLLYWOOD - The West Wing star Stockard Channing pleaded no contest to drunk-driving charges on Thursday and was placed on three years probation, fined

$390 and ordered to attend an alcohol education program.

The 61-year-old was stopped by police in Los Angeles last December attempting to drive around a roadblock which had been set up on the Hollywood Freeway to allow the removal of a broken down tractor-trailer.

It remains unclear whether Channing, who made her name playing Rizzo in

classic musical Grease, has been stripped of her driving license, as is

standard with most drink driving charges in California.
