HOLLYWOOD - The organizers of next month's Grammy Awards have been given a big boost after learning striking Hollywood writers will not picket their ceremony.
Writers Guild of America union bosses have announced they do not plan to ask members to protest outside the event, despite failing to give Grammy bosses a waiver to proceed with the show.
WGA bosses have only granted waivers for the NAACP Image Awards, the Screen Actors Guild Awards and the Independent Spirit Awards.
Both the Golden Globes and People's Choice Awards were downsized earlier this month as a result of the three-month-long strike action.
