With preparations for the awards season in full swing, bits and pieces of information are beginning to come out of the woodwork regarding specific details to all of our favorite award shows and festivals. For example, the Sundance Institute announced today that Parker Posey will serve as the host of the 2012 Sundance Film Festival Awards Ceremony, which is set to take place on Jan. 28 at 7 p.m. MT.
It makes sense that they would chose Posey to host. Once named "Queen of the Indies" by Time Magazine, the actress/writer has appeared in over a dozen films at Sundance throughout the years, including Party Girl (1995), House of Yes (1997) and Broken English (2007). Additionally, Posey will also appear in Price Check in the out-of-competition Premieres section at this year’s Festival. So, as you can see, she's quite familiar with the process. Congrats, Ms. Posey, on receiving such an honor!
