Multiple reports confirm that well-known funnyman Tracy Morgan was rushed to the hospital in Park City, Utah, after collapsing at the Sundance Film Festival. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the 30 Rock star fell unconscious following the Creative Coalition Spotlight Awards dinner, where he accepted the Spotlight Initiative Award.
Initially, insiders thought Morgan's out of control behavior was simply alcohol-induced since the actor appeared out of control at the dinner, yelling and falling down. However, a spokeswoman for the hospital said no drugs or alcohol were found in his system. The actor's rep also denied the drinking allegations and released a statement saying Morgan was hospitalized "from a combination of exhaustion and altitude, Tracy is seeking medical attention." The rep also added, "He is with his fiancée [Megan Wallover] and grateful to the Park City Medical Center for their care. Any reports of Tracy consuming alcohol are 100% false."
Unfortunately, Morgan is no stranger to hospital stays. The outspoken star has diabetes and underwent a kidney transplant in December 2010. And while he's recovered nicely from the surgery, this little stint could mean his diabetes had something to do with his recent spell (although my doctor skills only extend as far as Grey's Anatomy, so my assessment could be a little off). Let's just hope for a speedy recovery, so he can get back to enjoying Sundance.
