TLC won't replace Lopes

HOLLYWOOD - There is only one Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes.

Band member Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that she and Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins do not plan to replace Lopes, who was killed last Thursday in a car crash in Honduras. The group's fourth album will be released as is, and the two will go on performing--now as a duo.

"As for Lisa being replaced--never," Thomas said. "You can't replace a TLC girl. The chemistry we have is something God gave us. You can't put that together."

Although the singer's contribution to TLC's albums was usually limited to three or four songs, Lopes was known for coming up with the names of TLC's albums, such as the 1994 smash CrazySexyCool. She had already tagged the newest album, but the title hasn't been released yet.

"I don't know if I'm supposed to give away what her thoughts were, but she had definite ideas for what the album should be titled and the way the music should sound," producer Jimmy Jam told The Associated Press.

According to AP, the funeral for Lopes will take place Thursday at 11 a.m. in a suburb of Atlanta, Ga.
