HOLLYWOOD - Get ready for "hell" on TV. Daily Variety reports that actor James Caan will star in the original movie "A Glimpse of Hell" for the FX cable channel.
The telepic, based on a true story, follows the controversy surrounding the explosion aboard the USS Iowa that killed 47 sailors. Caan will play the captain of the ship.
GORE: YES; 'DARK ANGEL': NO: "Dark Angel" fans, sorry! The Fox network has chosen live election broadcast over the James Cameron-conceived TV show for the Tuesday night of Nov. 7, aka Election Tuesday. That marks the first time the network has interrupted regular programming for the election.
NO RETIREMENT JUST YET: Despite a report earlier this week, "Diagnosis Murder's" Dick Van Dyke says today that he is not quite ready to retire just yet, Reuters says.
``I've been talking about retiring for years,'' Van Dyke said in a statement released by his publicist Thursday. ``It's my standard answer to the question, 'What are your future plans.' The truth is I'll always want to do things that are worthwhile or fun.''
