Tall story as World's Shortest Man faces challenge from teenager

Pint-sized Colombian Edward Nino Hernandez, who stands at just 2 feet 3.46 inches (70.21 centimetres), has become the new World's Shortest Man following the death of China's He Pingping in March (10) - but he is only expected to hold the title for one issue of the annual Guinness World Records.

He is expected to lose his crown in October (14Oct10) when Nepalese 17 year old Khagendra Thapa Magar turns 18 - and, hence, becomes a man.

Magar is currently recognised as the Shortest Living Teenager, according to Guinness World Records guidelines.

Officials plan to measure Khagendra again in October upon his 18th birthday.
