Taye Diggs and his actress wife Idina Menzel are expecting their first child.
The Tony Award-winning actress is due to give birth later this year, according to Usmagazine.com.
Diggs, 38 and Menzel, 37, met in 1996 when they starred in the original Broadway production of the musical Rent. They dated for seven years and married in 2003.
Last year Menzel spoke of the couple's plans to start a family, stating, "It's definitely in the plans. I'll settle down and start popping out some babies.
"(Diggs) always wanted kids. He grew up with four younger brothers and sisters, so he's very comfortable around children."
