The Daily Shuffle: Kelly Clarkson Angers Fans After Ron Paul Endorsement

  • kelly clarksonAs many of you know (or at least assume), in the celebrity world you're never safe to voice your political opinion without receiving quite a bit of backlash. Kelly Clarkson found this out after she expressed her support for Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul, by posting on her Facebook wall, "I love Ron Paul." Normally this wouldn't seem like such a big deal, but the Texas congressman has expressed his views against gay rights (along with other minority groups) in the past, which as you can imagine did not sit well with many people and has caused Clarkson to receive a lot of angry messages from disappointed fans. Since then, the singer has responded to all the outrage and tried to explain her reasoning behind the endorsement, writing, "I am really sorry if I have offended anyone. Obviously that was not my intent. I do not support racism. I support gay rights, straight rights, women's rights, men's rights, white/black/purple/orange rights. I like Ron Paul because he believes in less government and letting the people (all of us) make the decisions and mold our country." And while I think she really didn't mean any harm by this, next time she may want to do some research before voicing her support of political figures. -E!, Facebook

  • Since Gwyneth Paltrow is saintly always thinking of others, she's decided to post some remedies on how to cure that inevitable New Year's Day hangover on her website GOOP. The actress encourages you to take a prevention drink called Mercy -- something that she herself has stock in (nice touch) -- and suggests that you treat yourself to a day at the spa afterward, since so many of them are open on New Year's Day. Seriously, what would we do without Gwyneth's knowledge? - GOOP
