As we suspected, Mark Wahlberg is now suffering from the backlash of the catastrophe that was his Men's Journal interview -- you know, the one where he said he could have overpowered the 9/11 terrorists had he been on one of the planes. After receiving much deserved criticism from 9/11 widows and others, Wahlberg issued a statement on Wednesday saying it was a "ridiculous" of him to even speculate about how he might have handled the situation. He told People, "To suggest I would have done anything differently than the passengers on that plane was irresponsible. I deeply apologize to the families of the victims that my answer came off as insensitive. It was certainly not my intention." Live and learn, I guess. - People
- According to Radar Online, things may be heating up again for Dexter stars Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter...and I'm not talking about on-screen. An eyewitness claims the recently divorced couple were seen canoodling at the Beverly Hills Peninsula Hotel on Tuesday night, observing, “Michael and Jennifer were seated at a dimly lit corner table, sipping wine. It was a very romantic setting and definitely looked like a date." The insider also added, “When Jennifer got up to use the ladies, Michael squeezed her hand, looked up at her and she smiled. And when she got back, they held hands on the table for a bit. At one point, Michael leaned across the table and he and Jennifer kissed -- a make-out kind of kiss, not a friendly one. They both looked really happy.” Could this mean the ex-couple are looking to start things up again? If it is in fact true, I know some Dexter fans (me) who will be thrilled. - Radar
- Last night, Jay-Z stepped out for his first public appearance since Beyoncé gave birth to Blue Ivy Carter. The event was for the grand re-opening of his NYC club, 40/40. Beyoncé, however, was MIA the whole night -- apparently still recuperating from delivering Baby Blue. But the rapper was all smiles, thanking the crowd for all their well-wishes in regards to his newborn daughter. No word yet on when his pop star wifey will make her first public appearance since becoming a mom, but knowing Beyoncé, it's sure to be for something spectacular. - US
