Linney plays a suburban mom whose recent cancer diagnosis makes her abandon her boring life for a whole new mindset of doing everything she’s always wanted to do, like put a Jacuzzi in the backyard and tell people how she really feels about them. Oh! And consuming deserts and alcohol for dinner! Or jumping on the couch with a glass full of juice in hand! The possibilities are endless, I say!
Gabourey Sidibe plays an outspoken student of hers, who’ll probably be an awesome youthful counterweight to Linney’s middle-aged wit. Platt is the nice husband who always has an answer for everything, especially for things like why it was necessary he jump on the couch while holding a Juicy Juice.
