
Drunk men, vampires, werewolves and blue aliens will compete for the top prizes at this year's MTV Movie Awards --
The Hangover leads the pack with six nominations, while
The Twilight Saga: New Moon and
Avatar have landed five nods apiece.
Sandra Bullock's romantic comedy
The Proposal and
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince both received four nominations.
The Hangover,
New Moon,
Avatar,
Alice in Wonderland and
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will compete for the coveted Best Film prize when the awards are handed out on June 6.
New Moon's
Kristen Stewart,
Robert Pattinson and
Taylor Lautner all landed Best Performance nods alongside
Avatar's
Zoe Saldana,
Dear John lovebirds
Channing Tatum and
Amanda Seyfried,
Harry Potter stars
Emma Watson and
Daniel Radcliffe, and
Zac Efron (
17 Again).
Three new awards will be added to the event: The Best Scared-as-S**t Performance, Biggest Badass Star and Global Superstar, which will pit Pattinson, Stewart, Radcliffe and Lautner against
Johnny Depp.
Meanwhile, Stewart and Pattinson will compete for the Best Kiss award with Stewart and
Dakota Fanning (
The Runaways), Lautner and
Taylor Swift (
Valentine's Day), Bullock and
Ryan Reynolds (
The Proposal), and Saldana and
Sam Worthington (
Avatar).
