The "Real Jack" Seeks Compensation

Hollywood - A Los Angeles interior designer, Jack Deamer, is suing NBC and the producers of the sitcom Will & Grace, claiming they based actor Sean Hayes' gay character of Jack McFarland on him without offering compensation.

According to the Associated Press, Deamer alleges that NBC writer Max Mutchnick promised to buy Deamer a house and a car in exchange for using the interior designer's identity as inspiration. An NBC official declined to comment to the AP on the lawsuit.

Deamer claims that he has known Mutchnick for more than a decade. Mutchnick does not deny the claim, but has said that "[Deamer] had not yet achieved the sort of assured long-term revenue" necessary for compensation.

Deamer's lawsuit is calling for an undisclosed amount of cash.
