'The Walking Dead's' Jon Bernthal Compares Season 2 to An Open Wound

I think most people probably know that when someone compares a series to an open wound, you're on the correct path. Right? Well, I guess that's true if your series is about oozing, gurgling, flesh-eating zombies. In this preview video for Season 2 of The Walking Dead, we get a few serious endorsements for the series' sophomore run. Steven Yeun (Glenn) swears it "will blow your face off." Laurie Holden (Andrea) touts the writing as being "so good, it's spooky." And finally, Jon Bernthal (Shane) gives his winning description: "Last year was sort of the introduction to this world, now it’s a big cut and we’re slicing it open and going inside of it." It sort of gives you the shivers just reading it, but as we inch closer to the premiere, I think most of us are looking forward to that exact reaction and if what we've seen so far is any indication, that's exactly what we're headed for.

The Walking Dead's 90-minute season premiere airs Oct. 16 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on AMC.
