Thompson to raise awareness of HIV, AIDS
HOLLYWOOD - Emma Thompson wants to use her celebrity status to help raise awareness of HIV and AIDS in Africa. The British actress plans to take one year off to travel with her partner, Greg Wise, and their 17-month-old daughter on behalf of the charity Action Aid. Thompson told the Daily Mail that she will "talk to women and orphans and try to spread the message about AIDS to inform people of the risks," Reuters reports. She plans to start her trip by the end of the year.
