HOLLYWOOD - Former Ally McBeal and Melrose Place star Courtney Thorne-Smith has secretly married boyfriend Roger Fishman at her home in Los Angeles.

The couple wed on New Year's Day in a tiny ceremony in the backyard of her home, according to her publicists.

Sources tell In Touch magazine the ceremony was so low-key neither Thorne-Smith nor her fiancé told their families.

A source explains, "Not even the bride's parents were invited. They applied for a confidential license so it wouldn't leak out before they did it."

This is the second marriage for According to Jim star Smith, 39, who suffered embarrassment in 2004 when her wedding pictures appeared in InStyle magazine as she announced her divorce from genetic scientist Dr. Andrew Conrad.

In 2003, she called off her wedding to cardiologist Robert Andrews just weeks before they were set to walk down the aisle.

The source adds, "She wanted to make sure she didn't have egg on her face a third time. Courtney and Roger took an extended vacation together over the Christmas holidays. After they returned, they quietly made it all legal."
