In the past decade, the actress has endured a messy split from ex-husband Ethan Hawke and a high profile court case after she harassed by a fan on the set of a movie.
And she insists she's looking forward to shaking off her 30s and embracing a new period in her life when she reaches the landmark age in April 2010.
Thurman tells People magazine, "I could not be more excited, because this was not my decade. I'm excited to start a new one."
