HOLLYWOOD - Super-producer Timbaland is to make his soap debut on TV hit One Life to Live.
The hip-hop star, 36, is the latest celebrity to be approached to make an appearance on the show, following in the footsteps of singers Mary J. Blige, Erykah Badu and Simply Red.
In addition to a small acting role, Timbaland will perform his single "The Way I Are" on the forthcoming episode with Keri Hilson.
Executive producer Frank Valentini tells Allhiphop.com, "Timbaland has made a vast contribution to the music industry as an artist and producer. I am a huge fan of his music and we look forward to him appearing on our show."
And Timbaland--real name Timothy Mosley--is delighted with the role.
He says in a statement, "This is a new experience for me. I am looking forward to having a great time and sharing my music!"
Mosley will film the One Life to Live episode on Friday and it will air next month.
