HOLLYWOOD - Singer-turned-actor Justin Timberlake is hoping to meet the members of a minor league baseball team--to pick up tips for his upcoming role as a baseball player.

The 27-year-old pop star is set to portray fictional baseball player Carlton Garrett in forthcoming film The Open Road, and has asked to meet with the Houston Astros' Double-A team in Texas to gather information for the part.

Hooks President J.J. Gottsch says, "Justin wants to portray what it's like playing for the Hooks, playing for an Astros minor league team and playing at Whataburger Field."
