Actor John Travolta will not be attending this year’s Golden Globe awards after the tragic death of his teen son earlier this month, reports FoxNews.com.
Travolta, who was slated to be a presenter at the Golden Globes on Sunday, is nominated for Best Original Song for his duet with Bolt co-star Miley Cyrus, "I Thought I Lost You."
"Our hearts go out to him," Byron Howard told UsMagazine.com at the L.A. Critics Choice Awards on Thursday, Jan. 8. "He has got such a soft heart, and is such a genuine guy. He loves his family obviously and we really feel for him."
Added Chris Williams: "He spoke of his family quite often and very lovingly, so we cant imagine what he is going through. We are definitely thinking of him."
Jett died from a seizure on Jan. 2 at his family's home in the Bahamas, autopsy results revealed Monday. Lisa Marie Presley, Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood were among the supporters at his private memorial at the Travolta's estate in Ocala, Florida.
"We have have expressed our sympathies to him, but I'm sure there are many people sending their thoughts," Williams told Us.
As for how Travolta and his wife Kelly Preston are holding up, Williams said, "I'm sure they need some time."
