‘Tsotsi’ Wins Pan African Festival Prize

HOLLYWOOD - Gavin Hood's multi-award nominated film Tsotsi has been given the Best Feature jury prize at the 14th annual Pan African Film and Arts Festival (PAFF) in Los Angeles.

The story of a South African gang leader opened the festival, which ran from February 9 to 19 and screened 150 films by producers from all over the world.

Thomas Allen HarrisTwelve Disciples of Nelson Mandela: A Son's Tribute to Unsung Heroes was also recognized as Best Documentary, and Akeelah and the Bee, starring Laurence Fishburne and Angela Basset won the Starbucks PAFF Audience Award. 

Tsotsi has also been nominated in the Foreign Film category at this year's Oscars.
