Stressing the fact that it's a prequel, 20th Century Fox has released a pair of new posters for X-Men First Class, its most anticipated tentpole of the summer. They depict Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and Erik Lensherr (Michael Fassbender) as young men in familiar environments standing over shadowy images of the militant mutant generals they are destined to become, which both capitalizes on the past success of the franchise while telling the viewer that this is a bold new chapter in its legacy.
