As her eponymous talk show winds down,
Tyra Banks has landed her next job, er, medium: writing novels.
The multimedia star has signed a three-book deal with Delacorte Press, which will publish
Modelland, her young-adult novel series.
Modelland, which will hit bookshelves next summer, focuses on a teenager who gets into an exclusive modeling academy -- with a slight
Harry Potter twist.
Banks says of
Modelland, which she claims is not exactly of the “chick lit” genre, "I have this notebook I write everything in and started working on titles and breaking down characters. And I kept going and going. I knew I didn't want it to be some autobiography; I wanted to create a fantastical place."
