HOLLYWOOD - R&B heart-throb Usher was the big winner at Saturday's NickelodeonKid's Choice Awards in Los Angeles, picking up two orange blimp trophies at the
star-studded bash.
Usher was named Favorite Male Singer and Favorite Song for "Burn" at the
gunge-ridden ceremony in UCLA's Pauley Pavilion, which was hosted by Ben Stiller.
Fellow music star Queen Latifah was given the special Wannabe Award--a
silver blimp--after the young voters declared she was the celebrity they would
most like to be.
Latifah, whose real name is Dana Owens, enthused, "I get a blimp. I thank all
of you so much for letting me do what I do for a living. I so love what I do."
Picking up one of his two gongs, Usher advised fans to "brush your teeth, say
your prayers, eat your vitamins", while Favorite Voice from an Animated Movie
winner Will Smith told youngsters how important reading was.
As usual, award bosses delighted the 1,000-strong crowd of kids by gunging
Johnny Depp and Will Ferrell.
