More than 8.1 million viewers tuned in to Sunday night's midseason premiere of AMC's The Walking Dead, which set a ratings record.
The viewership was the highest ever for the zombie series, beating out the season 2 premiere in October by almost a million.
It also set records in two key demographics: adults ages 18-49 (5.4 million) and adults 25-54 (4.4 million).
