Weinsteins To Tone Down Party

Matt Damon
HOLLYWOOD - Bob and Harvey Weinstein are dropping the comic theme of their customary

pre-Oscars party this weekend--to respectfully mark the end of their

movie studio Miramax.

The swan song bash in Los Angeles on Saturday night--held to look back on

the brothers' 25-year tenure at the film company--will skip the usual

star-studded skits mocking the idiosyncrasies of Hollywood.

However, the somber tone of the evening is proving a major turn off for usual

guests--stars who appeared in Miramax hits, like Matt Damon and Ben Affleck,

have reportedly snubbed the event.

A source tells website Pagesix.com, "It'll be funny when people look around

and think, 'Oh, Kids, where's Larry (Clark)? Not here.

"Oh, sex, lies, and videotape, where's Steven (Soderbergh)? Not here.

"Oh, Good Will Hunting, where are Matt (Damon) and Ben (Affleck) and Robin (Williams)? Not here."
