HOLLYWOOD - Movie funnyman Robin Williams has offered his support to Seinfeld star Michael Richards, after his racist tirade against two audience members at a comedy club.
Richards outraged the crowd at Hollywood's Laugh Factory and then the showbiz world when he shouted down two black hecklers on Nov. 17, calling them "n**gers."
He has apologized on live TV and radio but it has done little to calm the anger towards his actions.
But Williams urges critics to go easy on the 57-year-old.
He says, "I just hope everything will be okay. He said stupid stuff and he's apologized for it. I don't think he is that way."
