Amy Winehouse to Perform at Grammys via Satellite

HOLLYWOOD - Amy Winehouse will perform at Sunday's Grammy Awards via a live satellite TV link-up, after immigration officials banned her from travelling to the U.S.

The British singer is nominated for six awards at the prestigious Los Angeles bash, but is unable to attend after American embassy staff in London declined her request for a visa because of her recent arrest and fine for possession of cannabis in Norway.

Winehouse, who is currently in rehab, will also 'collect' any awards, should she win, via a satellite acceptance speech, reports Entertainment Weekly.

On Thursday, Winehouse's spokesperson said, "Unfortunately, her application for a visa to enter the United States of America has been rejected at this time by the American Embassy in London.

"Amy has been progressing well since entering a rehabilitation clinic two weeks ago and although disappointed with the decision has accepted the ruling and will be concentrating on her recovery."
