HOLLYWOOD - Amy Winehouse's husband Blake Fielder-Civil has been charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice.
Fielder-Civil, 25, appeared at Thames Magistrates' Court in London on Saturday over claims he tried to fix a trial.
Fielder-Civil and pal Anthony Kelly have been accused of paying victim James King £200,000 ($400,000) to withdraw a police statement claiming he had been assaulted by the pair.
Winehouse appeared in the court's public gallery accompanied by her father, Mitch. Troubled rocker Pete Doherty was also in attendance at the hearing.
But the singer insists her partner has been framed for the crime, saying, "Someone has set him up but whatever happens I'll be there for him. He's told me he's done nothing wrong and I believe him. I love him and just want him home."
Fielder-Civil and Kelly have been remanded in custody and are due to appear at east London's Snaresbrook Crown Court on Nov. 23.
