The ceremony, which took place on Saturday night at Los Angeles' Beverly Hilton Hotel, honored

with the Art Directors Guild's excellence in production design award in the contemporary-film category for the
Joel

Ethan Coen
-directed
No Country for Old Men
.
Jack Fisk
won the same award in the period-film category for
Paul Thomas Anderson
's oil epic
There Will Be Blood
, while
Dennis Gassner
was praised for his work on
The Golden Compass
in the fantasy genre.
Meanwhile, critically acclaimed production designer
Stuart Craig
, best known for his work on the Harry Potter movie franchise, was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award, and technical expert
Ray Harryhausen
picked up the prize for Outstanding Contribution to Cinematic Imagery.
