The cast of Smashed is coming together nicely. According to Variety, Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World), Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), Octavia Spencer (The Help), and Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation) are all in talks to join the film, a dramedy which centers on a boozy married couple whose relationship is challenged when the wife decides to sober up. Winstead and Paul will be playing said couple. James Ponsoldt, who co-wrote the the film with Susan Burke, is slated to direct. The film is loosely based on Blake Edwards' 1962 film Days of Wine and Roses.
