Winstone laments youth drug use

The Sexy Beast star admits his greatest fear for his three daughters is substance abuse after witnessing how drugs have wrecked the potential of so many youngsters.

And Winstone insists society is to blame for not addressing the problem.

He tells Britain's Daily Mirror, "They're the biggest problem the world has and there are wars going on about them. There ain't a place in life you go where it isn't about - let's not f**king beat about the bush. We know that so much crime, with knives and burglary, is drug-related, but nobody seems to talk about it.

"It used to be that cocaine was a money drug but now it seems it's everywhere you go. You go out in little towns and it's everywhere. Drugs are killing the youth. How many kids do you know can't get out of bed in the morning because they have had a spliff? They sleep until two in the afternoon, they have no get-up-and-go to get a job. I'm not blaming kids - I'm blaming society for not facing up to that."
