HOLLYWOOD - World Trade Center filmmakers are honoring their promise to donate five percent of the movie's opening weekend box-office receipts to the September 11th memorial.
The memorial foundation yesterday announced producers of the Oliver Stone film are donating $1.3 million.
A further $1.3 million is to be divided equally among three other 9/11 charities--Tuesday's Children, the Tribute WTC Visitor Center, and the New York Police and Fire Widows' and Children's Benefit Fund.
World Trade Center stars Nicolas Cage and Michael Pena as two real-life police officers trapped for hours in the rubble after the Twin Towers collapsed.
