HOLLYWOOD - High School Musical star Zac Efron has turned down the chance to appear in a big-screen version of the made-for-TV hit, according to reports.
The 18-year-old actor and his co-star girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens have allegedly been offered $1 million by Disney to sign up to the film adaptation, but are still in talks with movie producers.
A source tells the New York gossip column PageSix, Disney are "only offering them $1 million each. Zac and Vanessa aren't going to do it."
However, a spokesperson for the studio insists, "We are still in negotiations with the entire cast, but we don't comment on the specifics of negotiations."
