Abby Elliot and Michaela Watkins on NBC's 'Saturday Night Live'
Now that
Tina Fey
is going back to her regular day job and
Amy Poehler
is off playing mommy,
Saturday Night Live
has found a couple of new fresh faces to add to the hilarity:
Abby Elliot
t and
Michaela Watkins
.
Elliott is the daughter of onetime
Letterman
sidekick
Chris Elliott
and granddaughter of veteran comic
Bob Elliott
(of
Bob and Ray
fame), so you can say she has it in her blood. She recently played at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater -- the improv group co-founded by Poehler -- as well as trained with Los Angeles’s Groundlings Theater, TVGuide.com reports.
Watkins also comes from the Groundlings Theater -- as did such past
SNL
ers as
Will Ferrell
,
Phil Hartman
and
Kristen Wiig
. In addition to numerous one-off TV gigs, she enjoyed a three-episode arc on
The New Adventures of Old Christine
.
The two will make their debut this weekend, when
Paul Rudd
hosts. Let’s give them a warm welcome, shall we?
