Twilight proves once again that teen girls are a force to be reckoned with at the box-office.

With a massive bigger-than-expected debut of $70.6 million the film posted the fourth biggest November opening (behind only three Harry Potter films and the fourth best opening of the year. The opening was also the best ever for a female director giving Catherine Hardwicke a notable place in the record books. A great marketing campaign by Summit Entertainment took the film to the next level and puts them on the map with a huge franchise.

At No. 2, Sony's Quantum of Solace reached $100 million faster than any other Bond film and is now at $418 million worldwide.

The debut of Bolt landed the Disney film at number three as the film was caught in the shadow of Twilight. No fear for the little pup as the Thanksgiving holiday frame coming will provide a very favorable environment for the PG-rated family film. At number four another animated family film maintains its Top five status as Paramount/Dreamworks' Madagascar 2 continues its amazing run with another $16 million in the bank and a total take thus far of $137.5 million. Finally at number five, Universal's Role Models continues to impress with a minimal 35 percent third weekend drop as it nears $50 million.

Outside of the top 10 was another impresive performance by Fox Searchlight's acclaimed Slumdog Millionaire which added 22 theatres and posted a terrific per-theatre average of $31,050. Look for this one to expanded in the coming weeks and continue the great word-of-mouth that has made it such a huge indie hit.

With the third "up" weekend in a row and two months of solid box-office, we head into the all-important Thanksgiving weekend with much momentum and the potential for one of the biggest holiday weekends ever.
