‘Inception’ is living the dream of continued box office success as it prepares to cross the $150 million mark while ‘Salt’ and ‘Despicable Me’ show continued strength.  Three original films in the top tier indicates that audiences dig originality, even in the summer.

First Place – ‘Inception‘ adds $6.1 million at the box office on Monday bringing its 11 day domestic total to $149.0 million.

Second Place – ‘Salt‘ is a newcomer to the Daily Rally and finished on Monday with a solid gross of $4.1 million bringing its four-day domestic gross to $40.1 million.

Third Place – ‘Despicable Me’ impressively continues to dominate the family marketplace as the third best performer on Monday with $3.1 million taking the 18 day box office total to $164.4 million.
