Disaster coverage is more "Catholic" on Spanish stations

Reporting from New York, the Hong Kong newspaper, the South China Morning Post observed today that while most U.S. television stations have taken pains to make the disaster coverage as bloodless as possible, Spanish-language TV stations have shown no such reluctance to show blood. The SCMP observed: "The Spanish stations treated the subject of death in a highly Catholic-influenced way, by showing the blood, then praising the spirit of the dead in robust but respectful ways."
