The National Geographic Channel has rescheduled for tonight at 9:00 p.m. a documentary about the war in Afghanistan that was to have aired in late October. The documentary, Frontline Diaries: Into the Forbidden Zone, includes a lengthy profile of Ahmad Shah Massoud, the recently slain leader of the anti-Taliban forces known as the Northern Alliance.

Veteran journalist Sebastian Junger (The Perfect Storm) who fronts the documentary told today's Boston Globe that he was impressed by Massoud. "I've never felt another person who affected me like that, on assignment or otherwise. Massoud was just an incredibly powerful person." Two days before the Sept. 11 attacks in the U.S., Massoud was the victim of two suicide bombers posing as TV journalists.
