ABC's Washington D.C. affiliate, WJLA-TV, has pulled Bill Maher's Politically Incorrect off the air for a second time following a denunciation of Maher's remarks about the Sept. 11 attackers by White House spokesman Ari Fleischer, who on Wednesday called them "a terrible thing to say."

Maher, who had agreed with a panelist on his show that the attackers were not cowards but that the U.S. had acted cowardly by sending cruise missiles "from 2000 miles away" to root out terrorists, had later expressed "remorse and regret" for his remarks. A spokesman for the TV station, owned by Albritton Communications, told the Washington Post that Politically Incorrect would remain off the air indefinitely.
