Britney to duet with UK talk show host?

Jan 11, 2002 | 8:43am EST

Teen pop idol Britney Spears will give her first UK talk show interview with comedian Frank Skinner. Skinner hopes that Spears will join him in a duet when she appears on a special episode of his ITV1 show later this month.

"I'm really chuffed to be interviewing Britney. She is the hottest pop star in the world at the moment, and in more ways then one," he said.

Skinner is no stranger to stardom. He topped the charts in 1996 and 1998 with the England soccer anthem "Three Lions."

Guests on Skinner's show have ranged from British Prime Minister Tony Blair to NBA superstar Michael Jordan.

"The big question," he asked, "Is will she put her career on the line and do a song with me at the end of the show?"

Spears said she was looking forward to her chat with Skinner.

"I can't wait to come to the UK to meet Frank," the pop diva gushed. "I hear he's a bit of a superstar and can be a bit cheeky."

Britney's episode will air in late January.
