It looks as though Jennifer Lopez is an eligible bachelorette once again. The singer and her husband of nine months, dancer/choreographer Cris Judd, have separated.
A spokesman for Lopez declined to confirm or deny the breakup, but a source told Reuters Friday that the pair has been separated for some time but remains friendly and has no immediate plans for divorce.
The source also said no third party was involved in the split and dismissed rumors that the singer was getting back together with her ex-boyfriend, rapper mogul Sean "P. Diddy" Combs.
"This is something that's been going on for a while, but they still have a relationship," the source told Reuters. "They're friendly, they talk, they see each other…they're just separated and trying to figure it out."
Lopez and Judd were married last year in a very hush-hush ceremony in Calabasas, Calif., on Sept. 29. The 31-year old singer began dating Judd shortly after ending her relationship with Combs. They met early last year on the shoot of her video for the song "Love Don't Cost a Thing."
Although Judd appeared prominently in her video "Love Don't Cost a Thing," he became more active in Lopez's career after they were married. He directed the video for the Ja Rule remix of her song "Ain't It Funny" and choreographed her TV special Jennifer Lopez in Concert, the first of four NBC specials produced by Lopez's Nuyorican Productions.
Her marriage to Judd was Lopez's second. In 1997, she married waiter/aspiring model Ojani Noa and divorced him the following year.
